privacy policy
Your data is yours. Here we explain in plain language what information we collect, what we use it for, how long we keep it, who we share it with and how you can control it at any time. We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD).
the essentials at a glance
who processes your data
The controller of your data is HAPPY FRIDAY, S.L., with tax ID B54660980 and registered address at Avenida Alicante, 70, 03820 Cocentaina (Alicante), Spain. We are registered at the Commercial Registry of Alicante (Volume 3642, Folio 134, Sheet A-132228, Entry 1).
For any privacy matter, write to us at hola@happyfriday.es.
how we obtain your data
Almost all the data we process you give us yourself: when you register, place an order, write to us or subscribe to the newsletter.
We also automatically collect some technical data when you browse the site, such as your IP address or the device you use. We do this through cookies and similar technologies, and explain it in detail in our Cookie Policy.
If you sign in with Google, Facebook, Shop or Amazon
If you choose to log in with one of these accounts instead of creating a new one, that platform sends us some profile data, such as your name and email. We only use it to identify you and manage your account. We recommend reviewing the privacy settings of the account you use.
If you give us someone else’s data
If you place an order as a gift or ask us to ship it to another address, we need the recipient’s details to deliver it. By giving them to us, you confirm that this person knows you have provided them and what we will use them for. We only use them to manage that shipment.
Our website is aimed at adults. Although we have products designed for little ones, we don’t knowingly collect minors’ data. If you’re a minor, please don’t register. If we detect that we’ve collected a minor’s data by mistake, we delete it as soon as possible.
what data and what for
Depending on what you do on the site, we collect some data or other:
- Identifying data: name, surname and contact details.
- Billing data: if you ask us for a standard invoice, we need your tax ID and tax address. Invoicing regulations require it and without that data we can’t issue it.
- Financial data: those needed for payment. Your card details are handled securely by the payment gateway and we don’t store them.
- Browsing data: technical information about your connection and device, collected via cookies. We explain it in the Cookie Policy.
The data marked as mandatory in the forms is necessary to process your order. Without it we can’t complete the purchase.
We use it to:
- Manage your registration and account.
- Handle your enquiries and requests.
- Prepare, ship and manage your orders.
- Send you news, promotions, contests and giveaways (only if you accept).
- Show you our advertising on other websites and social media, only if you accept marketing cookies.
- Invite you to review your purchase.
- Identify you if you sign in with Google, Facebook, Shop or Amazon.
- Carry out statistical studies to improve the site and the service.
- Issue invoices and keep the accounts.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
why we can process it
The basis for processing your data depends on what we use it for:
- Your consent: to send you news, promotions, contests and giveaways, to show you advertising on other websites and social media, for cookies that aren’t strictly necessary and to bring in your data from Google, Facebook, Shop or Amazon if you choose to log in with those accounts.
- Performance of the contract: to manage your account, prepare your order, ship it and assist you.
- Our legal obligations: to issue invoices, keep the accounts and respond to the authorities when the law requires it.
- Our legitimate interest: to prevent payment fraud and protect our shop, to produce aggregated statistics that help us improve the site and the service, and to invite you to review a purchase you’ve already made. You can object to this processing by writing to us at hola@happyfriday.es.
how long we keep it
We keep each piece of data as long as needed, no more, no less:
- Your account: as long as you keep it active. If you cancel it, we block your data and delete it when the legal periods expire.
- Orders and invoices: 6 years from the last accounting entry, as required by the Commercial Code, and 4 years under tax regulations. This period also lets us handle any warranty claim about your purchase.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
When those periods expire, we keep your data blocked while liabilities may arise from having processed it, and then we delete it.
where we store your data
We work with providers who in some cases are outside the European Economic Area, so your data may be processed outside Europe.
When that happens, we always do so with the safeguards the law requires: the European Commission’s adequacy decision where one exists, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework covering providers like Google or Meta, or the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Commission in all other cases.
You can consult the full text of the Standard Contractual Clauses in the Official Journal of the European Union, and if you need more detail about a specific provider, write to us at hola@happyfriday.es.
who we share it with
We don’t sell, rent or exchange your data with unrelated third parties. Your trust comes first.
We only share it with providers we need to give you the service:
- Hosting services.
- Financial and payment entities.
- Fraud detection and prevention companies.
- Transport, logistics and delivery companies.
- Marketing and advertising providers.
- Technology and analytics service providers.
- Customer review and rating platforms.
When you accept marketing cookies, we share browsing information with Meta and Google to show you our advertising. In that case, those platforms and we jointly decide on that processing, each for our part. You can prevent it by rejecting marketing cookies or changing them whenever you want from the cookie settings panel.
Outside these cases, we would only disclose your data if a law requires us to.
marketing communications
If you give us your permission, we’ll send you news, promotions, contests or giveaways that may interest you, based on your tastes.
You can stop receiving them whenever you want: from the link at the bottom of each email, or by writing to us at hola@happyfriday.es.
To send you content that truly interests you, we may group your purchase preferences. We don’t make automated decisions that affect you legally or significantly. If you’d rather we didn’t, tell us and we’ll stop.
security of your data
Your data matters to us, so we treat it with the utmost confidentiality and apply the technical and organisational measures needed to protect it against loss, misuse, unauthorised access or theft.
social media
We’re on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. If you follow us, bear in mind that, except when we ask you for data for something specific like a contest, your data belongs to that social network. We recommend reading their privacy policies.
your rights
The law gives you a set of rights over your data. You can exercise them whenever you want:
- Access: know what data of yours we process.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate data or complete it. If you’re registered, you can do it from your profile.
- Erasure (right to be forgotten): ask us to delete it when it’s no longer necessary.
- Restriction: ask us to pause its processing in certain cases.
- Portability: receive your data in a standard format and take it to another controller.
- Objection: object to us processing your data for certain purposes.
- Withdraw your consent: when we process your data because you gave us permission, you can withdraw it whenever you want. Processing done before remains valid.
- Complaint: lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
We explain how to exercise them just below.
precautions we recommend
- Don’t share your username or password with anyone.
- Don’t write them down in easily accessible places.
- Always browse our secure site (with padlock / SSL).
- Log out when you finish, especially on shared devices.
changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the law or the services we use change. We recommend reviewing it from time to time to stay up to date.
