Cotton percale: fresh and breathable
Percale is a plain-weave fabric with 200 threads per cm², which gives it a slightly crisp feel at first but makes it very fresh and breathable at night. It's ideal for spring and summer, and for people who tend to get hot while they sleep. It gradually softens with washing, becoming softer and more comfortable.

200 thread count percale pillowcases
200 thread count percale is a fine, breathable, high-density fabric. All our pillowcases are certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Class I: AITEX, an independent laboratory, tests them for harmful substances.
Closure types: envelope, buttons and zip
A pillowcase's closure is a practical detail that directly affects comfort at night. Envelope pillowcases (an inner flap with no visible closure) are the neatest and most timeless: there's nothing to bother you at night and they hold the pillow securely. Button pillowcases offer a more secure closure and are common in quality textiles. Zipped pillowcases are the most practical for quick changes and are preferred in hospitals and hotels.

Digital printing works like a large-format printer: it applies the ink directly onto the fabric. That's why it allows prints with many colours, gradients and fine details. Caring for your pillowcases
Pillowcases need washing more often than any other bedding. We recommend washing them every 3–5 days to keep them clean and fresh. See our full guide on how to wash pillowcases for all fabrics.
- Machine wash at 40 degrees maximum on a delicate or bedding programme.
- Use a neutral liquid detergent. Avoid bleach and regular fabric softener (they wear the fibres over time).
- Dry flat in the air. If you use a tumble dryer, choose low temperature and a short cycle.
- Don't let dirty pillowcases pile up: the sooner they're washed, the easier it is to remove stains and the less the fabric wears.
What size pillowcase do I need for a 150 cm bed?
For a 150 cm bed you need two pillowcases. The usual sizes are 50x75 cm if you use standard individual pillows, or 45x110 cm if you use bolster pillows. Always check the exact size of your pillow before buying.
What size pillowcase do I need for a 90 cm bed?
For a 90 cm bed you need one pillowcase. The most common standard size is 45x110 cm for bolster pillows, or 50x70 cm for more compact pillows.
How many pillowcases do I need for a double bed?
For a 135 or 150 cm bed you need two pillowcases, one for each pillow. Two pillowcases are also common for 180 cm beds, although some people prefer a single bolster with one larger pillowcase.
How often should I wash my pillowcase?
The pillowcase is in direct contact with your face and neck all night, so we recommend washing it every 3–5 days, or at least weekly. It's the bedding piece that needs washing most often.
What does 200 threads mean in a pillowcase?
Thread count measures the density of the fabric per cm². A 200 thread count pillowcase is high-quality percale: a fine, breathable fabric that feels very pleasant.
Are button or zip pillowcases better?
Buttons don't snag the filling during washing. A zip gives a more secure, quicker closure. Envelope pillowcases (an inner flap with no visible closure) are the neatest and most comfortable: they hold the pillow in place with nothing to bother you at night.
Are cotton pillowcases suitable all year round?
Yes. Percale is suitable all year round thanks to its freshness and breathability.
What size is a 50x70 pillowcase?
50x70 cm fits standard pillows used on several bed sizes, from singles to doubles. It's one of the most searched-for sizes in Spain.
Are the pillowcases suitable for people with allergies?
We can't guarantee that a fabric won't cause allergies, because it depends on each person. Our textiles are certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Class I: tested for harmful substances against the limits that apply to baby articles.
Can I use a 60x60 pillowcase on a standard pillow?
The 60x60 cm pillowcase fits the European square or decorative pillow, which is different from standard long pillows. Be sure to check the exact size of your pillow before buying.
How do I care for a pillowcase?
With the right care (washing at 40°, mild detergent), the pillowcase keeps its colour and feel for longer. Quality percale even gets softer with washing. When they lose their softness or show visible wear, it's time to replace them.
