Vicente, in his own words
From the capsule Diez, the collection inspired by the stories of the people around us.
I love classical music in general for my moments of relaxation, and I also regularly listen to RTVE podcasts. Any cultural or science outreach content interests me and I enjoy it enormously.
My favourite album could be any Depeche Mode album from the late 80s or early 90s. And if I had to pick one song by the band, it would be Behind the wheel. This British band, pioneers of electronic music, always moves me.
Perfume, by Patrick Süskind. It was a book that made a big impression on me and sparked my love of reading. I always have one or two books on the go, mostly realist novels.
Six Feet Under is a series I have revisited several times, really enjoying the intimate and honest way each of the characters is treated. I am also very interested in its focus on death, which it explores on a personal, religious and philosophical level. Fabulous!
Portixol beach, in Jávea, is a magical place that brings back many personal memories and that I always like to revisit on a getaway every now and then.
Spaghetti pesto e tonno. I’m a big pasta lover in general! As long as it’s very well made, of course… I’m also a big fan of classic Valencian paella, cooked over a wood fire. I’m very good at making it and I love sharing it with friends and family on the odd Sunday.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. He was the last director of the Bauhaus, the pioneering school of modern art, design and architecture. His architecture is extremely clear and simple. He is a very inspiring figure, associated with two aphorisms that represent me: “Less is more” and “God is in the details”.
For me, Happyfriday is, has been and will be a very personal project come true. It means being part of a young team, full of drive and eager to keep improving, from which we learn continuously and mutually, from one another, every day.
Perhaps the early days were the most intense and exciting. We had very few resources and a very small team, but the little happy family we formed had a lot of energy and we did incredible things. Optimism, honesty and happiness is how I would define Happyfriday.
