Manuel, in his own words

From the Diez capsule collection, inspired by the stories of the people around us.

Listen

If I had to choose a favourite song, I’d pick Madonna’s La Isla Bonita.

The first time I heard it, I was captivated. Perhaps because I have an “island spirit” that makes any island, especially in the Mediterranean, irresistible to me.

San Pedro, the beautiful island Madonna sings about, could be any island, anywhere; I feel at home on all of them.

Watch

“The Holiday”. The first time I saw this film, I thought, why not? Why not do what the main characters do? So I did. I found a home-exchange website, created my listing, and I knew exactly what I wanted: to go to the United States, anywhere.

People from Las Vegas, California and New York with amazing homes… could this be real? I chose a duplex in Manhattan.

I haven’t repeated that unforgettable experience, but I rewatch the film every year.

Visit

Oia, Santorini. I’m fascinated by islands, and the Greek islands have that magic I find in so many islands, but Santorini is without doubt my favourite.

Experiencing the sunset in silence from high above Oia, on a hotel terrace overlooking the cliff, with a glass of Cava, is an experience I’ll never forget.

Santorini has captivated me for life.

Eat

Baked rice — I’m 100% a rice lover.

I love rice and whenever I get the chance, I eat it. I love every kind of paella and creamy rice dishes, but my absolute favourite is baked rice. I’m a fan, and I go from restaurant to restaurant in search of this delicacy. Although I’ve tried thousands of rice dishes, my mother’s and my mother-in-law’s are especially good.

At home, with friends, or in a seaside restaurant, rice is a must.

Recommend

Lázaro Rosa-Violán, interior designer. Design, architecture, decoration and interior design take up a large part of my day-to-day life. I dive into social media; I never tire of browsing and discovering this fascinating universe. I love hotels, and imagining how interior designers brilliantly solve spaces and transform them into special places.

An interior designer who wins me over with every creation. Whenever I get the chance, I stay at one of the hotels he has designed so successfully and visit some of the wonderful restaurants with spectacular interiors that resonate with me so strongly. I love his unique style, with an exquisite mix of elements that turn any space into somewhere I never want to leave.

Talk

Happyfriday: my passion, my dedication, my effort, my everything. It’s a dream come true. It’s what I love doing, what I know how to do and what I want to do. It’s where I want to be, surrounded by people and creating beautiful things.

I have especially fond memories of the first photoshoots we did at my home: fun, spontaneous, creative and very, very enjoyable.
