If I had to choose a favourite song, I would choose La isla bonita by Madonna.
The first day I heard it, it won me over. Perhaps because I have an “island” spirit that makes any island, especially in the Mediterranean, captivate me.
San Pedro, the beautiful island Madonna sings about, could be any island, anywhere, and on all of them I feel good.
“The Holiday”. When I first saw this film, I asked myself: why not? Why not do what the main characters do? No sooner said than done. I looked up the home-exchange website, posted my listing and I knew exactly what I wanted: to go to the United States, anywhere.
People from Las Vegas, California and New York who had amazing houses… Could this be true? I chose a duplex in Manhattan.
I haven’t repeated this unforgettable experience, but every year I always watch the film again.
Oia, Santorini. Islands fascinate me, and the Greek ones have that magic I find on many islands, but Santorini is, without a doubt, the one I like most.
Watching the sunset in silence from the top of Oia, on the terrace of any hotel, on the cliff, with a glass of Cava, is an experience I will never forget.
Santorini has captured me for life.
Arroz al horno (oven-baked rice). I declare myself a 100% rice lover.
I love rice and whenever I get the chance, I eat rice. I love any kind of paella and creamy rice, but my favourite, without a doubt, is Arroz al Horno. I’m a fan and I go round restaurants in search of this delicacy. Although I have tried thousands of rice dishes, my mother’s and my mother-in-law’s are especially good.
At home, with friends or in a restaurant by the sea, rice is a must.
Lázaro Rosa-Violán, interior designer. Design, architecture, decoration and interior design take up a large part of my everyday life. I dive into social media and never tire of browsing and discovering this fascinating world. I love hotels, and imagining how interior designers so skilfully solve spaces and turn them into special places.
An interior designer who wins me over with every creation. Whenever I get the chance, I stay in one of the hotels he has designed so successfully and visit one of the wonderful restaurants with spectacular interiors that I identify with so much. I love his style, unique, with an exquisite mix of elements that turn any space into a place I would never want to leave.
Happyfriday, my dream, my dedication, my effort, my everything. It is a dream come true, it is what I love doing, what I know how to do and what I want to do. Where I want to be, surrounded by people and creating beautiful things.
I remember with special fondness the first shoots we did at my house: fun, spontaneous, creative and really, really fun.
