What are your dreams made of? Maybe you're a fan of natural cotton bedlinen, soft sheets and delicate fabrics... We all have our personal tastes in bedtime, but did you know that each material has a recommended season? And best of all, 100% cotton bedding is ideal for all seasons, cool and light for summer, soft and comforting for winter.

Cotton is one of the most suitable for year-round use, it is soft to the touch, breathable, absorbs moisture and is anti-allergenic.

So that these garments always look good on our bed, it is very important to take care of them. Below, we will give you some small tips to make your bedding shine and look like new.

1. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Before each wash, read the label where the manufacturer's instructions are found, as each garment has instructions for its correct maintenance, especially for washing and drying.

2. DON’T OVERLOAD THE WASHING MACHINE

Often, to save time, it is common to put different sets and pieces of clothing in the same wash. Even if you have a washing machine with a large capacity, you should make sure that there is enough space left in the drum to distribute the water and detergent correctly. In this way, you will ensure that the cotton is washed efficiently.

3. CORRECT WASHING CYCLE

On the label of each garment, it will indicate exactly how to apply the correct washing cycle and thus avoid damaging the fabric. In the case of cotton bedding, it is best to use a 60º wash program.

4. WASH

Cotton maintenance is relatively simple. It is a resistant fabric and easy to wash, but it is convenient to machine wash at a moderate temperature since cotton is a natural fibre and can shrink at high temperatures.

Think that the bedding is used daily and continuously remains impregnated with sweat, dust or any other external element. That is why it is recommended to wash them weekly and use a mild detergent that does not cause irritation to our clothes.

5. DRYING

Remember to stretch each piece well before drying, to avoid wrinkles and always try to hang the cotton over an area that is not very visible, thus avoiding unwanted marks. You can use a tumble dryer, and we recommend drying in the open air. Be careful with direct exposure to the sun and high summer temperatures for a long time because it could fade it and make the fabric less soft.

6. COTTON WEIGHT

It is important to take into account the weight of the fabric in order to decide which type of washing is the most appropriate. At Happyfriday we have bed linen of 150 threads and 200 threads. Cottons with a greater number of threads will withstand higher temperatures as they are more resistant.

7. KEEP THE BEDDING

The essential thing before storing, is to find a suitable place. That place must be dry, without humidity, clean and as high as possible to prevent dust from reaching it. If we do not have a high place, look for a chest of drawers or a closet where it can be kept in the same conditions.

If we follow these steps, we will be able to achieve perfect hygiene in our home linen, which will help you get the rest you are looking for. With these little tips, you will maintain their comfort and elegance as the first day.
