How to dress your bed following the trends coming from Australia

First of all, it's all about creating layers, so as well as fitted and flat sheets you'll need a bedspread or duvet cover, then top it off with throws or bed covers arranged casually at the foot of the bed.

Leave the bed partly turned down so all the layers of textiles can be seen.

As for colours, use a neutral base and add soft, warm colours. Lately the most popular are earthy tones (browns, oranges, ochres, terracottas…) along with dusty pink.

Don't be afraid to mix prints. This is a key feature that's harder to master, but if you dare, your bed will look spectacular!

Using a three-colour palette, don't be afraid to mix stripes with flowers or other graphic motifs on the pillowcases and cushion covers.
